Chenab bridge, world’s tallest railway bridge over the Chenab river marked another “engineering milestone”, said Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
“Infrastructural Marvel in Making: Indian Railways is well on track to achieve another engineering milestone with the steel arch of Chenab bridge reaching at closure position. It is all set to be the world's highest Railway bridge," the minister tweeted.
According to the officials Chenab railways is being built 359 meters above the Chenab river and is 35 meters taller than the world famous Eiffel Tower.
The Chenab railway project is being implemented by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited. It is set to create history as it is being built on the challenging 111 km stretch under Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla (USBRL) project. It is projected to be complete by March.
