
Congress' Navjot Sidhu gets a year in jail. Find out why
What: Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was today sentenced to a year in jail by the Supreme Court.
Why: The SC sentenced the leader to jail in a 34-year-old road rage case. On December 27, 1988, Mr Sidhu got into an argument with Gurnam Singh, a resident of Patiala, over a parking spot. Navjot Sidhu along with his friend believed to have dragged the other person out of his car and hit him, he later died in the hsopital.
What next: The SC ruled that The cricketer-turned-politician must surrender and serve a year's "rigorous imprisonment". In a tweet, Mr. Sidhu stated that he will submit to the majesty of law.
