Congress loses former Union Minister in K'ntka; 'party ignored him'

  • Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister CM Ibrahim quit the party on Thursday evening. The reason behind this move has been states that he is upset over not being made the leader of opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council, a post he had been eyeing for a long time.

  • He stated that the party had been ignoring him for a long time and that he will disclose his next political moves soon.

  • "I'm happy that the AICC President Sonia Gandhi has relieved me from the burden that was on me, I am now free to take my decision. I will soon speak to my well-wishers in the state and announce my next move." Mr Ibrahim said.

  • Congress on Wednesday appointed BK Hariprasad as the leader of opposition in the legislative council.
