Top Congress leaders Kirti Azad and Ashok Tanwar are all set to join the Trinamool Congress in Delhi, as per sources close to party chief Mamata Banerjee.
Ashok Tanwar is a former Congress MP and close aide of Rahul Gandhi. Kirti Azad joined Congress in 2018.
Azad was part of the Indian squad of 1983 that won the cricket World Cup. He was sacked from the BJP for openly targeting the then Union finance minister Arun Jaitley over corruption in Delhi and District Cricket Association in December 2015.
It has also been stated that Ms.Banerjee, currently in Delhi, who never misses out on meeting Sonia Gandhi whenever in Delhi; might give the meeting a miss this time.
