
Congress Govt loses power in Puducherry
The Congress government in Puducherry lost power today after losing majority in the Assembly and Chief Minister V Narayanasamy resigned.
The party’s MLAs had dropped to 12 MLAs, where as the majority mark was 14. This came after 2 MLAs resigned on Sunday.
CM Narayanswamy accused the BJP and NR Congress of bringing down his government and also accused former Puducherry LG Kiran Bedi of colluding with the opposition.
With this, NR Congress led coilation with 14 MLAs may be asked to form the government, just 3 months before the assembly elections are scheduled in the Union Territory in May. This came after CM was asked to take a floor test today to prove his majority, which he lost and therefore, later resigned.
