
Confessions not in public domain can't be published: Delhi HC
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday stated that Confessional statement that are not in the public domain, cannot be accessed and published.
This came after the Court questioned a News Channel over broadcast of an alleged confession of an accused in a case related to Northeast Delhi riots, that took place in February of this year.
The court also observed that journalists do not have the right to take out the case diary and publish now. The court further directed Zee News Media Corporation Ltd to file an affidavit disclosing the name of the source from whom their journalist got the document of an alleged confession statement.
