
Chhattisgarh IPS officer faces sedition charges for conspiracy against Government
Chhattisgarh Police has filed a sedition case against GP Singh, an IPS officer- who was suspended earlier this week in a disproportionate assets case. This happened as raids took place at his residence by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
According to the police, they stated that he was allegedly involved in promoting enmity and conspiring against government and public representatives.
The former IPS officer was booked under IPC sections 124-A (sedition) and 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc).
The ACB and EOW conducted a 3 day search over 15 locations associated with GP Singh and discovered immovable assets woth ₹10 crore.
