Check out Pakistan's first-ever National Security Policy

  • As Pakistan tries to pivot from geopolitics to geoeconomics, the south-Asian country has launched its first-ever national security policy (2022-26)

  • According to Pakistan, the policy articulates a citizen-centric framework, placing economic security at its core and seeking a secure and economically resilient Pakistan.

  • On the foreign front, the new policy highlights disinformation, Hindutva, and the use of aggression for domestic political gains as key threats from India, the Express Tribune newspaper reported.

  • Further according to Pakistani officials the policy seeks peace with immediate neighbours and places the Jammu and Kashmir issue at the core of the bilateral relationship with India

  • It stated that India now must bandwagon since dialogue can help in normalisation of ties and increase in trade and connectivity as it used to be earlier
