Centre-Farmer Union meeting updates

• On Thursday afternoon, the second round of meetings since the farmers Delhi chalo protest was held. The meeting that started at 2pm, went for 6+ hrs.

• The meeting is said to be in good faith and the Government is said to have listened to their grievances. The farmers gave a detailed presentation stating their grievances.

• The Government said that MSP will continue and there will also be discussion to include it in law as well.

• The farmers are persistent on taking back of laws and not just amendments. The Government is considering the farmers’s government.

• The next round of discussions will be held on December 5 at 2pm. The meeting will again be headed by Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Narendra Singh Tomar and junior minister Som Prakash.
