
Central Govt. Releases ₹8923 Crores To 25 States
On Sunday, the Central Government of India released ₹8923 crores to 25 states as grants to the rural local bodies.
These grants will help rural areas take all the necessary prevention and mitigation measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
These grants are meant for all the three tiers of Panchayati Raj Institutions - village, block, and district.
The 15th Finance Commission of India recommended the government for providing grants to the rural local bodies.
