Central Govt. releases ₹7183 crores to 14 states

  • On Monday, the central government released ₹7183 crores to 14 states as per the recommendations made by the15th finance commission.

  • The amount has been given as the third installment of the post-devolution revenue deficit grant.

  • The 14 states that have been paid the amount are- Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

  • The Finance Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

  • "The Department of Expenditure has on Monday released the 3rd monthly instalment of Post Devolution Revenue Deficit (PDRD) Grant of Rs.7,183.42 crore to 14 States," the statement said.
