
Central Govt. releases ₹44,000 crores to meet GST compensation shortfall
On Friday, the Central Government of India released ₹44,000 crores to the states to help them meet the GST compensation shortfall.
The government has released ₹1,59,000 crores up till now under the back-to-back loan facility.
"For assisting the States/UTs in their endeavour, Ministry of Finance has frontloaded the release of assistance under the back-to-back loan facility during FY 2021-22 of Rs 1,59,000 crore," the finance ministry said in a statement.
