CBI to Prosecute retired High Court Judge over Corruption Charges

According to officials, the CBI has received permission to prosecute retired Allahabad High Court Judge Justice SN Shukla in a corruption case for allegedly favouring a private medical college in his orders.

According to them, the CBI had applied to the HC for permission to prosecute the retired judge on April 16 this year, in accordance with the Prevention of Corruption Act.

With the HC providing its assent, the CBI can proceed with a charge sheet against the retired Judge.

Besides Justice Shukla of the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC, the agency had also identified retired Chhattisgarh High Court judge I M Quddusi, Bhagwan Prasad Yadav & Palash Yadav of the Prasad Education Trust, the trust itself & private people Bhavna Pandey & Sudhir Giri in the FIR, they added.
