CBI raids Manish Sisodia’s residence in Excise policy case
What: In response to charges of corruption in the liquor policy, the CBI conducted searches at 21 places in Delhi-NCR, including Manish Sisodia's residence, who serves as the deputy chief minister of Delhi and is in charge of the Excise department.
Why: In light of alleged rule violations and procedural shortcomings, Delhi's LG VK Saxena had suggested a CBI investigation against the excise policy of the Kejriwal government, 2021-22.
Deputy CM's statement: Manish Sisodia welcomed the CBI and assured that the truth would come out.
