CBI names 7 Army Officials in Recruitment Bribe Case
The CBI identified five Lieutenant Colonels, a Major, and a Lieutenant in an investigation into recruitment corruption affecting the Indian Army on Monday, after searches in 30 locations across 13 cities.
According to the CBI, the suspects include 17 army officials in all, as well as six others, who are facing "allegations relating to bribes and irregularities in recruiting of officers and other ranks through the Military Selection Board."
The case was opened after a report was received from the Additional Directorate General, Discipline & Vigilance, Adjutant General's Branch, Integrated HQ of the Ministry of Defence, according to the department (Army).
