CBI files bribery case against Anil Deshmukh

  • On Saturday CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) filed an FIR case of corruption and bribery against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

  • An FIR (First Information Report) the Maharashtra Home Minister is accused of allegedly being involved in bribery and unlawful corruption in the state through former Mumbai CP Param Vir Singh.

  • Under the section of the prevention of corruption act, Deshmukh is booked for a bribery charge.

  • However, on April 14 CBI probe the matter after API Sachin Waze was fired from his duty and Param Bir Singh revealed the involvement of the home minister in corruption. He accused Deshmukh of allegedly asking senior police officers to do bribery for him.
