Case registered against Assam CM and officials
Following an escalation between the forces of the Assam and Mizoram due to a border dispute, in which six Assam police officials were killed, Mizoram yesterday filed a case against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa and other Assam officials.
An FIR was registered under several sectors, which also included 'attempt to murder' at the Vairengte Police Station in Kolasib district of Mizoram, which borders Assam's Cachar.
The report alleged that Assam police officers, operating under the directions of the CM, refused to have an amicable dialogue and engaged in fighting on the day of the incident.
They "forcefully informed SP, Kolasib that the area falls within Assam territory and they intended to construct a camp as per the instruction of Chief Minister, Assam himself", the FIR said.
