Calcutta HC Asks Delhi CFSL To Collect Samples From Site of Birbhum Killing incident

  • The Calcutta high court ordered the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Delhi to collect necessary materials for forensic examination at Bogtui village in Bengal's Birbhum district, where at least eight people were charred to death in the suspected aftermath of the murder of a TMC panchayat official.

  • The court ordered the state administration to provide a report in the case before it by 2 p.m. on Thursday, when it will be heard again.

  • Taking up a suo motu plea and a set of PILs, a division bench led by Chief Justice Prakash Shrivastava directed that CCTVs be erected at the crime scene in the presence of district judge Purba Bardhaman, and recordings be made till further instructions.
