Byju's acquires online exam prep startup Gradeup

• On Tuesday, India's most-valued ed-tech startup Byju's announced that they have acquired online exam preparation startup Gradeup.

• The startup prepares students for over 150 examinations such as IAS, GATE, CAT, defense, UGC-NET, etc.

• The company claimed to have more than 2,50,000 paid subscribers and over 20 million registrations.

• This is the eighth startup to be acquired by Byju's in a year.

• Earlier this year, Byju's also acquired the higher education platform Great Learning, after-school learning app Toppr and Aakash Institute.

• "With Gradeup on board, we will be able to further scale and expand our test-prep offerings in postgraduate-level exams," Byju's founder Raveendran said.

• The online education giant also raised $150 million in the funding round led by led by Asmaan Ventures.

• Byju's valuation currently stands at $16.5 billion.
