BSP Worker Cries on Camera After Being Denied Poll Ticket, Accuses Party of Bribery Demand
Arshad Rana, a Bahujan Samaj Party worker, wept on Friday after being denied a ticket in Uttar Pradesh's impending election. On social media, a video of Rana crying and moaning about his party appeared.
He said he has worked for the BSP for 24 years and was formally declared a contender for the 2022 UP elections from Charthawal in 2018.
“Tamasha bana diya… (they made a mockery me). I never thought this would happen. You promise me a ticket and then you give it to someone else. You people must have seen the daily advertisements in newspapers and on the hoardings. I did everything and yet..," the BSP leader said in the video.
In Uttar Pradesh, elections will be held in seven stages. On February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3 and March 7, voting will take place in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh. On March 10, the polling results will be announced.
