BSF jawan open fires at colleagues; leaves 4 dead

  • Four Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed in Amritsar today, after one of their colleagues indiscriminately open fired in the force's mess.

  • The shooter, identified as constable Satteppa SK, was among those who died in the incident. However, it remains unclear as to whether he killed himself or was shot at by the others.

  • The incident took place at the campus of the 144th battalion in the Khasa area of the district, about 12-13 km short of the Attari-Wagah border crossing along the India-Pakistan international front.

  • One soldier is said to be critically injured and is currently undergoing treatment.
