In the country's most ambitious and largest deployment in years, the United Kingdom will be deploying it's largest warship, aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, and it's strike task in the early months of next year.
This move from London comes amidst the rising interest of the country to explore the Indo-Pacific area and also the rising concerns regarding the growing influence of China in the regions.
“It is a natural choice for the inaugural deployment of the carrier strike task group to include a visit to the Indian Ocean and East Asia. The deployment is a sign of the UK’s commitment to regional security." stated the Spokesperson.
Along with UK, major European countries-France, Germany and Netherlands too have earlier expressed their commitment to regional security in the Indo-Pacific and have also unveiled their country's plan for the same.
