BREAKING: Senior BJP leader joins Samajwadi Party in UP

• Ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled for the state of Uttar Pradesh next month, senior BJP leader and Uttar Pradesh Minister Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the party on Tuesday.

• In his resignation letter, Maurya stated the reason behind his move as “negligent attitude of the party towards Dalits, backward, farmers, unemployed youth, small and medium businessmen."

• Following his resignation, he joined Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi party.

• Alongside, BSP party general secretary S C Misra announced that party chief Mayawati will not be contesting this time's assembly polls.
