Sirjan KaurBREAKING: Punjab health minister Vijay Singla sacked, arrested over corruption charges
What: Punjab Health Minister Vijay Singla from the state Cabinet today was shunned from the state cabinet and was arrested for corruption charges.
Why: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann himself announced this decision and said the health minister was involved in corruption cases and they had proof of that. He was asking for kickbacks in a tender. Singla was allegedly taking 1% commission on all tenders floated by Health and Family Welfare department.
What next: Singla has been arrested by Anti-Corruption cell of the Punjab Police.He was taken to the Phase VII police station in Mohali. Further, He will be taken to the district courts, for seeking his remand.
