Breaking: PM announces 27% OBC & 10% EWS in all-India medical admn.
The Government on Friday announced a 27% quota for the OBCs and a 10% quota for those from the Economically Weaker Section under the all India quota scheme for undergraduate and postgraduate medical admissions.
The reservation quota will be applicable for this academic year's (2021-22) medical admissions, including dental as well.
Nearly 1,500 OBC students in MBBS and 2,500 OBC students in postgraduation will be benefitted from this reservation every year, apart from 550 students from the economically weaker sections in MBBS and around 1,000 in the post-graduation, the Government stated.
The All India quota scheme was introduced in 1986 under the direction of the Supreme Court; so as to provide benefits to students from a particular state in other states across the country.
