Breaking: Majithia to contest against Sidhu in Amritsar East

• As the date of filing nomination nears parties in poll-bound Punjab are declaring names of candidates in the remaining seats

• Until now only AAP has released the list of candidates for all 117 seats

• Shiromani Akali Dal led by Sukhbir Singh Badal announced the parties candidate for Lambi and Amritsar East seat

• Bikram Majithia who is facing a drugs case is Akali Dal's candidate from Amritsar East seat and will take on Navjot Sidhu who is the incumbent MLA

• Badal also announced that his father, former chief minister and party patron Parkash Singh Badal, would contest the Assembly election from Lambi, from where he is the sitting MLA. At 94, the senior Badal is likely to be among the oldest candidates this election
