After a disruptive start to the Winter session of the Lok Sabha, amid slogans against the three farm laws by the opposition parties. The Lok Sabha Speaker had called for the adjournment of the session.
Shortly after, the Lok Sabha reconvened. At around 12:09 pm, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar introduced the bill to repeal the three farm laws. However, there was a strong push from the side of the opposition to discuss the laws.
Amidst this ruckus, the bill to repeal the laws was passed by a voice vote in the Lok Sabha.
Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury demanded discussion on the Bill in the House. Lok Sabha, however, was adjourned till 2 pm today. Speaker Om Birla had requested Opposition MPs to bring the House in order to allow any discussion before the Farm Laws Repeal Bill, 2021 was passed.
