
BREAKING: ISRO launches Radar Imaging Satellite- 1st launch of 2022. Find all details
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle with two smaller co-passenger satellites today. This marked the organisation's first launch for the year of 2022.
The launch took place today at 5:59 am from the First Launch Pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
EOS-04 is a Radar Imaging Satellite designed to provide high quality images under all weather conditions for applications such as Agriculture, Forestry and Plantations, Soil Moisture and Hydrology and Flood mapping.
The two smaller satellites include a student satellite (INSPIREsat-1) from Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), and a technology demonstrator satellite (INS-2TD) from ISRO.
