Bot accounts spreading pro-China propaganda deleted by Twitter

• Hundred of fake accounts have been suspended by Twitter recently. It is being stated that these accounts were being used to spread pro-China propaganda during the Winter Olympics.

• This step was taken by Twitter after a joint investigation by ProPublica and New York Times that found out that 3,000 of these accounts were likely being used to spread a good image of the communist country.

• A Twitter spokesperson has said whether these accounts were part of a state-backed effort will be determines by an investigation.
