Boris Johnson wins Trust Vote

• What: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson survived a confidence vote on Monday, after facing a trust vote initiated by his own party members.

• Why: The British PM has been under increasing pressure after he and staff held alcohol-fuelled parties in his Downing Street office and residence when Britain was under lockdowns to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

• How: 211 lawmakers casted in favour of Johnson's leadership.The winning of trust vote is not an entirely happy news, however. 41% of Johnson's party lawmakers casted ballots against his leadership.
