Bollywood stars collectively sue media houses and anchors

  • A lawsuit against two news channels and four of their anchors was filed at the Delhi High Court today by Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Kabir Khan, and others. The names of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India (PGI), the Cine & TV Artiste Association (CINTAA), the Indian Film and TV Producers Council (IFTPC) and the Screenwriters Association (SWA) are also included in the plaintiff list.

  • The suit prohibits these outlets from holding Bollywood celebrities' media trials. Furthermore, the complaint demands the news channels to comply with the rules of the Program Code and to delete, recall and take down all the defamatory material reported against Bollywood by them.

  • The lawsuit is filed against the following:

- Republic TV

- Times Now

- Arnab Goswami

- Navika Kumar

- Pradeep Bhandari

- Rahul Shivshankar
