BJP claims victory in Bihar elections; counting still going on

  • Senior BJP leaders including Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi held a press conference and claimed victory of the National Democratic Alliance. Mr.Sushil Modi thanked the people of Bihar for giving a fourth term to the NDA government and said that people have rejected politics of corruption and “jungle-Raj”

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the people of Bihar for voting in record number and electing the NDA government. He also emphasised how Bihar will lead the way of strengthening the dream of an ‘atmanirbhar’ bharat.

  • However the Election Commission hasn’t declared the results since voting of a few rounds is still going on. State’s Chief Elector Officer , HK Srinivas said that the Election Commission might conduct a Press Conference at midnight

BJP has claimed that the NDA has crossed the majority mark of 122 seats and is in a comfortable position to form the government.
