BJP Chief Nadda's convoy attacked in W.Bengal
On Thursday evening, the convoy of BJP chief JP Nadda, who was in West Bengal for campaigning for the upcoming state legislative polls, was attacked with bricks, sticks and stones- in what the BJP termed as a 'sponsored attack' by the Mamata Banerjee led TMC state government.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah sought a report from the West Bengal government of the attack in which some BJP leaders sustained injuries and their cars saw damage.
Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Friday afternoon held a press conference regarding the incident and stated that he has submitted a report on the law and order situation in the state to the Home Minister. The Home Minister Amit Shah has also summoned the Chief Secretary and Police Chief to Delhi on Monday, December 14.
"Bengal has descended into an era of tyranny, anarchy and darkness under the Trinamool rule. The manner in which political violence has been institutionalised and brought to the extreme in West Bengal under TMC rule is sad and worrying," stated Amit Shah in a tweet.
