Bhupendra Patel to be Gujarat’s new CM
Senior BJP leader Bhupendra Patel will be Gujarat’s new Chief Minister, following Vijay Rupani’s resignation yesterday.
Patel is considered to be the protege of former Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel and it is believed that he was the choice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah.
Former CM Vijay Rupani who was also present during the event stated that the party will successfully contest the next year assembly polls under the leadership of Patel.
Bhupendra Patel is an MLA from Ghatlodia seat, held earlier by Anandiben Patel. He appears to be a surprise candidate for the post.
With this, Gujarat becomes the third BJP led state to witness a change in the CM post this year, after Uttarakhand and Karnataka
