Bhavina Patel creates history- wins silver at Tokyo Paralympics 2021

  • Bhavinaben Patel on Sunday became the only second woman to win a medal at the Paralympics.

  • Patel won the silver medal in the women’s singles table tennis class 4 final, after losing to world number one Chinese paddler Ying Zhou.

Patel, who was diagnosed with polio when she was 12 months old created history by entering the finals as now athlete had before her entered the Tables Tennis finals.

Before her, Deepa Malik had become the first woman to win a medal at the Paralympics; when she won a silver in shotaput at Rio in 2015.
