Bharat Petroleum to invest ₹200 cr to setup 2000 EV charging stations
On Wednesday, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) announced the investment of ₹200 crores to set up 100 fast electric vehicles (EV) charging corridors.
These corridors will have nearly 2000 EV charging stations installed.
These corridors will be set up along India's busiest 100 national highways.
The first EV charging corridor has been recently set up along the Chennai-Trichi-Madurai highway with one charging unit.
"Given this cost variance, we have budgeted for around Rs 200 crore investment this fiscal as we plan to set up as many as 2,000 fast-charging stations across 100 corridors by March 2023," BPCL Executive Director P S Ravi said.
