Farmer unions have called for 'Bharat Bandh' today as the farmer protests, against the three farm laws, on the borders of Delhi today complete 10 months.
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of over 40 farm unions, is leading the protest today- which is to last from 6 am to 4 pm on 27 September, Monday.
Several opposition parties have extended their support to the call of the Bharat Bandh by the farmers. In Punjab, state party chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has asked the party workers to support the call by the farmers.
In UP, Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has stated that her party will support the Bharat Bandh call.
Congress general secretary KC Venugopal tweeted, "We believe in the right of our farmers and we will stand by them in their fight against the black farm laws."
