Bengal Elections: TMC alleges voter discrepancy and EVM malfunction

  • The Trinamool Congress alleged voter discrepancy and EVM malfunction as voting began in 30 constituencies of the total 294 seats.

  • Senior party leader and TMC MP Derek O’Brien wrote a letter to the Election commission of India, highlighting the issue and a party delegation also met the poll panel in the afternoon.

  • TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay stated that he had shared his concerns with the chief Electoral officer and stated that the new system wasn’t acceptable to them. They wanted that in the next phase the polling agent must be local of the concerned polling booth.
