Banks Sanctioned ₹15 Lakh Cr Under PMMY In Last 6 Years

  • On Wednesday, the Finance Ministry of India said that the banks and financial institutions have paid ₹14.96 lakh crores under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana in the last 6 years.

  • Over 28.68 crore customers have benefitted from the scheme.

  • On 8th April 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the scheme to promote entrepreneurship.

  • In the Financial Year 2020-21, 4.20 crore loans were sanctioned under the scheme.

  • "Financial needs of all stakeholders ranging from the budding entrepreneurs to the hard-working farmers have also been catered to through various initiatives. A key initiative towards this is Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), which has given wings to the dreams and aspirations of millions, along with a feeling of self-worth and independence," Finance Ministry said.
