Bail granted to Republic TV Assistant Vice President Ghanshyam Singh

  • On Saturday, a Mumbai court awarded bail to the Assistant Vice President of Distribution of the Republic Media Network, Ghanshyam Singh, in the TRP scam case.

  • The order was passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, DE Kothalikar, who ordered Singh to be released with one or two assurances subject to the execution of a personal bond of Rs. 50,000.

  • Upon his arrest in the TRP scam, Singh was in judicial custody

  • The Court also directed Singh to visit the Crime Division office at Kandivali every Monday and Friday between 9 am and 11 am before the completion of the trial in the case.

  • He should also appear in the parade of registration conducted by the Executive Magistrate. Failure to do so or to comply with the investment agency would result in the bail being revoked, the court said.

  • It also mandated that Singh could not leave India without the Magistrate's prior consent to conduct the hearing.
