Australian PM lashes out at Facebook. Tap to know why
After Facebook silenced Australian media channels from its platform, Australian’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison raised the issue of elected governments being bullied by the tech giant.
Morrison described Facebook’s effort to silence news, health and emergency services in the country from its platform as an attempt to “unfriend Australia.” Further he said Australia was “in regular contact with the leaders of other nations on these issues.”
The controversy arose since country’s parliament is set to vote on a new law named ‘News Media Bargaining Code.’ The law require Facebook to pay publishers for using their content.
