"Australia will not keep the international border closed indefinitely"; Khorshid

  • On Tuesday Australian Medical Association president Omar Khorshid warned the Australian government and said "Australia cannot keep international borders closed indefinitely it will affect livelihood, instead of this government should work towards making a strong medical infrastructure.”

  • Whereas, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison defended ‘Fortress Australia’ and continued COVID-19 restrictions. But the experts have warned the PM Morrison plan to close the international border for next year will create a hermit nation.

  • Experts said, "Everyone wants new normalcy to be restored and the conservative leaders are willing to reopen the International border.”

  • However, the experts said this year Pandemic is worse in comparison to the past year. After closing the international border in March, recently Australia has reported no community transmission of COVID-19.
