ASI unearths 900-year old Monastery. Check out what it means
A 900-year old Buddhist Monastery was unearthed by Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in Hazariabagh district of Jharkhand.
ASI had unearthed the sculpture of a fiery which it believed to be of the Shaivite diety Maheshwari indicating cultural assimilation in the area.
ASI had found ten sculptures of deity Tara and Buddha. Notably it had also found a Buddhist shrine with three room near an agricultural land on the eastern side Juljul Pahar. Interestingly this is a significant finding in terms of spread of Buddhism in Jharkhand.
