Artist known for his crucifix art work passes away at 83
• Australian artist Hermann Nitsch has passed away at the age of 83.
• The artist was known as the ‘enfant terrible’ for his art shows that featured animal carcasses and real blood.
• His is best known for his crucifix artwork in which he showed crucified performers covered in blood.
• His performances and shows drew lot of criticism.
• It was during one of his shows in 1966 that police in London was called by viewers because a dead lamb was disemboweled live on stage which made many uncomfortable.
