
Arnab Goswami’s show fined in the UK for promoting Hatred
The United Kingdom’s broadcast regulator imposed a fine of 20,000 pounds (approx ₹19.73 lakh) on Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV on the charge of promoting hate and intolerance.
The Office of Communication, UK, in its December 22 order cited the Republic TV’s episode ‘Poochta hai Bharat’ aired on 6 September 2019 for using offensive language, hate speech, abusive and derogatory treatment through its comments, against the people of Pakistan.
The programme was based on the topic of India’s Chandrayaan 2 spacecraft mission and drew a comparison of India’s technological advancements in comparison to Pakistan .
