Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane on Wednesday, November 4 arrived in the neighbouring country of Nepal for a 3-day crucial visit which is largely aimed at restricting the bilateral ties between the two nations.
Army Chief Gen Naravane’s visit comes after an official invite was extended to him from Nepal Army chief Gen Purna Chandra Thapa.
General Naravane on Tuesday had said that his is eagerly looking forward to his visit and expressed his confidence that it will lead to strong bonds of friendship between the armies of two countries.
“The Nepali Army believes that exchange of such high-level visits and continuation of tradition helps in strengthening relations between the two armies, contributing to enhancing the relationship between the two countries,” reads a statement issued by the Nepal Army.
This comes as a crucial visit after the relations between the two countries have strained over the past few months over the new map introduced by Nepal and a few projects inaugurated in India.
