Apex court approves journalist Siddiqui to visit his ailing mother
On Monday the Supreme court approved journalist Siddiqui Kappan's appeal to visit Kerala for five days to see his ailing mother.
Journalist Kappan was arrested while covering the Hathras gang rape case news story. However, his appeal to visit his mother was approved with an order not to give interviews to the media, not to use social media and not to meet the public other than his own relatives.
The supporters of Siddiqui and his wife are collecting money for his release and portraying him as a successor of Haji. Thus, the supreme court has strictly ordered him not to be paraded and stay away from political influence. Only he is ordered to stay at home with his ailing mother for five days.
