Andhra Pradesh's entire cabinet resigns. Find out why

  • Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's entire cabinet resigned today. Such a step has been initiated as CM Reddy wishes for an overhaul after the completion of half of his term.

  • This news was widely anticipated as CM Reddy had said he would go in for an entirely new team halfway through his term. The revamp was scheduled in December but had to be put off due to Covid.

  • Various sources have stated that only one or two ministers from the current cohort are likely to retained in the new cabinet.

  • The new cabinet is likely to have representation from each of the newly-formed 26 districts of the state. Caste, region, religion, and gender will be factored in.

  • New cabinet will be announced on 11 April 2022.
