Amit Shah launches portal for investment in J&K

  • Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday launched an interactive portal for the purpose of investment in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the new industrial policy announced for the UT.

  • He stated that this a part of the promise that PM Modi made while abrogating Article 370 that it would mark a new beginning of employment and well being for the people of J&k.

  • He further stated that under the new policy investments of Rs 24,000 crore had been committed, the Government, however, expects it to go beyond Rs 50,000 crore.

  • He stated that in a bid to ensure development of the region, a new medical college and five nursing institutes had been approved for the region and the medical seats have also been increased from 500 to 900.
