Amazon out from IPL auction race; BCCI eyes $7.7 Bn

What: On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will receive final bids for Indian Premier League (IPL) media rights for the next 5 years. Amazon has dropped its plan to bid for the rights. With Sony, Disney & Reliance in the auction race to win the bid, it is expected that BCCI will earn a fortune of nearly $7.7 billion.

Different Packages: BCCI has divided the media rights into four packages- sole rights on television in the Indian subcontinent, broadcasts for the rest of the world, digital broadcasting, and a bespoke package for special matches such as play-offs.
